3-5 years technical background with a low level understanding of servers, CPUs, networking, and storage.
Bachelors with experience or Masters Degree in engineering or computer science.
Hands-on knowledge of datacenter architectures, and one or more areas of specialization (clustering, virtualization, and relational (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) or NoSQL/Key-Value (MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchBase) databases.
Proficient in a scripting language (BASH, PERL, Python, etc.) and one or more applications languages (C, C++, JAVA) under Linux, Windows, and VMware environments.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Performance benchmarking knowledge (preferably high end storage, but server or HPC applications also good).
Insatiable curiosity and a proven record of on-the-job learning. Good analysis and problem-solving skills.
Analytically driven, can go deeper into a problem, collect data, and understand root causes for performance bottlenecks.
SSD and other solid state storage background a plus.
Good organizational and time management skills, demonstrated ability to multitask.
Effective oral and written communications: ability to communicate with internal staff and external customers.
